Week 8 “Peacemakers Needed”

     Qué transita por sus venass. Esta semana tuve la oportunidad de tener varias experiencias edificantes. Para empezar, todos los élderes de mi depa decidieron hacer un ayuno de inglés por toda la semana, lo cual fue chido porque por fin pude hablar español en México! El martes acompañamos a una hermana en nuestra rama a abrir su llamamiento misional. Tristemente su familia no está de acuerdo con su decisión, así que todos los misioneros fuimos a apoyarla. Pa qué les miento, me salió una lagrimita mientras leía la carta, pero prometo que solo una (mentira). Le tocó Argentina!! Estamos tan felices por ella y su voluntad de servir al Señor, a pesar de su situación familiar. Ha sido un momento de aprendizaje para mí verla a ella. En mi correo pasado hablé sobre cierta contención dentro de nuestro distrito. Esta semana ha sido una semana de amor y perdón. Mientras Jesucristo fue crucificado, dijo "Padre, perdónalos, porque no saben lo que hacen. “¿Acaso somos nosotros más grandes que Jesús? NO. Si Él tuvo que padecer todas las cosas que padeció, y de cualquier manera tuvo que amar y perdonar a sus agresores, ¡cuan más importante es que nosotros lo hagamos!

     Hablando del distrito, tragedia golpeó cuando nuestro líder de distrito tuvo que irse temprano de la misión. Ya solo le quedaban 5 semanas más, pero ha estado sufriendo de un parásito en su estómago por meses, y ya era tiempo de que regresara. POR ESO NUNCA SE TOMA AGUA DE LA LLAVE. Fue triste verlo partir pero haremos nuestro mejor esfuerzo para seguir creciendo la rama. Élder Carroll y yo logramos poner otra fecha bautismal esta semana, y ¡este domingo nuestra amiga fue a la iglesia por primera vez! Me sentí como un papá orgulloso viendo a mi bebé jaja. Solo me puedo imaginar como se debe sentir nuestro Padre Celestial al ver a todos sus hijos e hijas tomar ese primer paso hacia Él. La obra del Señor sí que es la obra más importante que podamos estar llevando a cabo. También un élder nos inspiró a pararnos en las kombis y predicarle a todos. Dio miedo los primeros 20 segundos pero terminó siendo muy divertido jaja. 

     Hoy voy a ser pésimo para responder y hablar con todos porque tengo que viajar a Puebla y está relejos de aquí, pero los amo y pienso en ustedes como no tienen idea

Pensamiento Espiritual: La neta he estado buscando una escritura super profunda para compartir toda la semana y verme super sabio jaja, pero creo que por hoy prefiero dejarlos con mi testimonio. Dios vive. Él es real, y conoce a cada uno de ustedes personalmente. ¡Les suplico que se acerquen a Él! No soy uno de esos estafadores tratando de venderte un producto. Realmente sé que estas cosas son verdaderas, porque he visto la mano del Señor en mi vida, y sé que nadie puede caer más profundo que la luz de Cristo puede brillar. Estoy lejos de mi familia, de mis amigos, de mi hogar, y peor que todo, no puedo escuchar corridos tumbados. Sin embargo, creo que nunca he hallado tanto gozo y satisfacción en mi vida hasta ahora. Si las cosas del mundo son como un platillo de 5 estrellas, entonces las cosas del Señor son como un buffet de platillos de 5 estrellas. Además la mejor parte de los buffets es que nunca se acaban

English: 

     Salutations. This week I had the opportunity to have several edifying experiences. To start, all the elders in my apartment decided to fast from English for the entire week, which lit because I was finally able to speak Spanish in Mexico! On Tuesday we went with a sister in our branch to open her mission call. Sadly, her family doesn't agree with her decision, so all the missionaries went to support her. Why lie, I shed a little tear while reading the letter, but I promise I only shed one (lie). She got Argentina!! We are so happy for her and her willingness to serve the Lord, despite her family situation. It has been a learning moment for me to see her. In my last email I talked about some contention within our district. Well, this week has been a week of love and forgiveness. While Jesus Christ was crucified, He said "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." Are we greater than Jesus? NO.  If He had to suffer all the things He did, and still had to love and forgive His aggresors, how much more important is it for us to do so!

     Speaking of the district, tragedy struck when our district leader had to leave his mission early. He only had 5 more weeks left, but he had been suffering from a parasite in his stomach for months, and it was time for him to return. THAT'S WHY YOU NEVER DRINK TAP WATER. It was sad to see him go but we will do our best to continue growing the branch. Elder Carroll and I managed to set another baptismal date this week, and this Sunday our friend went to church for the first time! I felt like a proud dad watching my baby haha. I can only imagine how our Heavenly Father must feel seeing all of His sons and daughters take that first step toward Him. The Lord's work is indeed the most important work we can be doing. An elder also inspired us to stand on the vans and preach to everyone.  It was scary for the first 20 seconds but it ended up being really fun haha.

     Today I'm going to be terrible at answering and talking to everyone because I have to travel to Puebla and it's far away from here, but I love you all and I think about you like you have no idea

Spiritual Thought: I've really been looking for a super deep scripture to share all week and make myself look super wise haha, but I think for today I'd rather leave you with my testimony. God lives. He is real, and He knows each and every one of you personally. I beg you to come closer to Him! I'm not one of those scammers trying to sell you a product. I truly know these things are true, because I've seen the hand of the Lord in my life, and I know that no one can fall deeper than the light of Christ can shine. I'm far from my family, my friends, my home, and worst of all, I can't listen to corridos tumbados. However, I don't think I've ever found so much joy and fulfillment in my life until now.  If the things of the world are like a 5 star meal, then the things of the Lord are like a buffet of 5 star meals. The best part of buffets is that they never end.
