Week 16 “Come Unto Christ”

     Holaaa. Esta semana se fue de volada. Como que ya le estoy agarrando la onda a esto de ser entrenador  jaja. Esta semana contactamos como locos y encontramos un buennn de gente, así que mi compañero a tenido un buen de oportunidades para practicar su español y poco a poco estamos viendo el progreso. Hablando de buenas noticias, por fin tenemos agua caliente! Solo tomó diez días. Hacía mucha falta porque nuestro departamento está tan frio que literalmente podemos ver nuestro aliento cuando hablamos jaja. Sí que nos dejaron con nada cuando nos mudamos a Jicolapa. Mi compañero y yo estabamos usando nuestra lavadora, cuando toda el agua de la manguera empezó a inundar el depa. Hicimos la cosa lógica y sacamos la manguera por la ventana, pero desafortunadamente para nuestros vecinos de abajo, toda el agua cayó sobre su techo, y como su techo está hecho de lamina, se escurrió y como que inundó su casa un poco. Pero ¡está bien! Con la expiación de Jesucristo todos podemos ser redimidos. 

     Vivir acá en Jicolapa definitivamente ha sido una adventura nueva. Todos los miembros a quienes les he dicho que ahora vivo en Jicolapa me ven con una cara de terror y dicen que pobrecito. Hubo un hermano que nos dijo que la única parte peligrosa de Jicolapa es por donde está la virgen, y entre más y más lo describía, me dí cuenta que estaba hablando de nuestro vecindario jaja. El problema con Jicolapa es que está bien tétrico. Es muy raro encontrar una calle iluminada y solo hay una casa como cada 500 metros, con puros plantíos de maíz. Hubo una noche en la que estabamos caminando a casa de un miembro, pero luego mi compa tuvo un muy mal presentimiento. Decidimos regresar a nuestra casa y mientras estabamos caminando, me dice mi compa "tuve un sueño que nos robaron en esta misma calle." Nunca he orado con tanto fervor en toda mi vida mientras caminábamos en esa calle jajaja casi casi andaba rezando. Afortunadamente todo bien. 

     Poco a poco vamos viendo progreso en nuestra área. Entre más trabajamos, más puedo entender por qué el Señor nos mandó a mí y mi compañero aquí. Quizá no tengo todas las piezas del rompecabezas ahora, pero eso no importa. Yo confío en la sabiduría y el amor de mi Dios. Visitamos un miembro inactivo y asistió la iglesia esta semana, y ninguno de sus familiares son miembros, pero ¡están interesados! Definitívamente tuvimos un inicio lento, pero sé que con mucho esfuerzo y fe, podremos ayudar a las personas que están listas para venir a Cristo.

Pensamiento Espiritual: VENID A CRISTO. No sé cómo más se los puedo decir. No tengo porqué mentir. Tienen mi palabra que estoy mil veces más feliz y lleno de propósito estando en el servicio de Dios que en cualquier otro tiempo de mi vida.

     Helloooo. This week went flying. I'm kind of getting the hang of this whole training thing haha. This week we contacted like crazy and found a ton of people, so my comp has had a ton of opportunities to practice his Spanish and little by little we're seeing progress. Speaking of good news, we finally have hot water! It only took ten days. It was desperately needed because our apartment is so cold that we can literally see our breath when we talk haha. They really left us with nothing when we moved to Jicolapa. My roommate and I were using our washing machine, when all the water from the hose started flooding the apartment. We did the logical thing and put the hose out the window, but unfortunately for our downstairs neighbors, all the water fell on their roof, and since their roof is made of tin, it leaked and kind of flooded their house a bit. But it's okay! With the atonement of Jesus Christ we can all be redeemed. 

      Living here in Jicolapa has definitely been a new adventure. All the members that I have told that I now live in Jicolapa look at me with a terrified face and say poor thing. There was a member who told us that the only dangerous part of Jicolapa is where the virgin is, and the more and more he described it, I realized that he was talking about our neighborhood haha. The problem with Jicolapa is that it is very creepy. It is very rare to find a lighted street and there is only one house every 500 meters, with only corn fields in between. There was one night when we were walking to a member's house, but then my comp had a very bad feeling. We decided to return to our house and while we were walking, my comp said to me "I had a dream that we were robbed on this very street." I have never prayed with such rigour in my entire life while we were walking on that street hahaha. Fortunately everything was fine. 

     Little by little we are seeing progress in our area. The more we work, the more I begin to understand why God sent me and my companion here. I may not have all the pieces to the puzzle yet, but it doesn't matter. I trust in the wisdom and love of my God. We vsited an inactive member who attended church this week, and none of his family are members, but they are interested! We definitely had a slow start, but I know that with a lot of effort and faith, we can help people who are ready to come to Christ.

Spiritual Thought: COME TO CHRIST. I don't know how else to tell you. I don't have to lie. You have my word that I am a thousand times happier and more purposeful being in God's service than at any other time in my life.
