Week 27 “Por Siempre En Mi Corazón Zacatlán”

Excelsos días a todos. Solo han pasado 4 días desde mi correo pasado así que no hay mucho nuevo que contar. Todavía estamos tratando de enfocarnos en encontrar y trabajar con los miembros inactivos. Encontramos a una hermana que no ha asistido a la iglesia en como 10-15 años, pero cuando la invitamos a la iglesia nos dijo que si no sale a vender los domingos se suicidaría, entonces... ¡poco a poco! La rama por fin se ha dado cuenta de que todos los registros están 100% mal, así que tuvimos una reunión con la primera presidencia de la rama, e ideamos un plan para este cambio que sigue para por fin actualizar todos los registros. Sinceramente no es el trabajo más divertido del mundo, pero sí es uno que es indispensable para que crezca la rama. Tenemos muchos "miembros" pero muchos no tienen cédula, muchos no tienen su bautismo registrado, así que es como si nunca se hubieran registrado. Otros no tienen a sus hijos en el sistema, básicamente es todo un desastre, pero por eso estamos aquí.

Hablando de estar aquí, quien sabe que va a pasar conmigo. Ya llevo 6 meses en Zacatlán, y mañana es cuando me dirán si me quedo o me voy. Obviamente estoy listo para aceptar cualquier voluntad de Dios, simplemente oro que su voluntad sea que me quede. Esta rama literalmente es mi familia. Conozco a cada uno de ellos, sus casas, sus niños, hasta los nombres de sus perros. Esta semana rompimos nuestro récord de asistencia, y ¡logramos tener 78! Estoy feliz con todo el trabajo que hemos hecho, pero tendrán que esperar hasta la próxima semana para ver a donde me voy jaja.

Splendid morning. It's only been 4 days since my last email so there's not much new to tell. We're still trying to focus on finding and working with inactive members. We found a sister who hasn't been to church in like 10-15 years, but when we invited her to church she told us that if she didn't go out to sell on Sundays she would kill herself, so... little by little! The branch has finally realized that all the records are 100% wrong, so we had a meeting with the first branch presidency, and we came up with a plan for this change that follows to finally update all the records. Honestly it's not the most fun job in the world, but it is one that is indispensable for the growth of the branch. We have many "members" but many don't have their ID, many don't have their baptism recorded, so it's like they were never baptised or registered. Others don't have their children in the system, basically it's a mess, but that's why we're here.

Speaking of being here, who knows what will happen to me. I have been in Zacatlán for 6 months now, and tomorrow is when they will tell me if I stay or go. Obviously I am ready to accept whatever God wants, I just pray that His will is for me to stay. This branch is literally my family. I know each and every one of them, their houses, their children, even the names of their dogs. This week we broke our attendance record, and we managed to have 78! I am happy with all the work we have done, but you will have to wait until next week to see where I am going haha.
