Week 35 “El Mes De Milagros Ha Comenzado”

La verdad no tengo palabras para describir esta semana. Mi compa y yo hemos trabajado como nunca lo hemos hecho en nuestras vidas. Tuvimos 2 conferencias en Puebla esta semana, así que perdimos mucho tiempo de trabajo, pero todavía el Señor nos bendijo de tantas maneras. Ambas veces que viajamos a Puebla pudimos haber ido desde un día antes y quedarnos a dormir ahí con todos, pero decidimos quedarnos en nuestra área para trabajar, aunque sea unas 2 horitas más, y despertarnos a las 4:45 para llegar a Puebla a tiempo. Según las normas, a las 9 pm tenemos que estar ya en el depa, pero a veces terminamos de trabajar como a las 8:45 o algo así. En vez de regresar ya a casa, contactamos a cada persona en la calle que podamos hasta que el reloj diga 9. Sé que son cosas pequeñas, pero como dice la escritura, el Señor realiza grandes obras por medios muy pequeños. Entonces, ¿cuáles han sido los resultados? Pues, al inicio de la semana mi compañero y yo fijamos nuestras metas para el mes de Marzo, y decidimos poner la meta de 4 bautismos. Para que tengan una idea, nuestra carpeta estaba literalmente vacía. No más de 7 personas en enseñanza, cero prospectos, cero todo. No había nadie que yo creía que pudiera bautizarse, sin embargo, sentimos una impresión tan fuerte que deberíamos poner 4, así que confiamos y lo hicimos. Hoy que escribo esto, 8 días después, tenemos ya 3 bautismos programados para el fin del mes con personas que ya han asistido la iglesia, con muchas personas más que vamos a desafiar esta semana, o que solo necesitan asistir para programar el bautismo. Cuando le das absolutamente todo al Señor, el hace lo mismo a cambio. Este lugar literalmente se ha convertido en las aguas de Mormón.
Mi compañero y yo estabamos contactando tarde una noche, y de la nada nos paró una señora, y nos preguntó que si la recordabamos. En ese momento, Dios literalmente iluminó mi mente porque yo no tenía ni idea, pero de la nada su nombre salió de mi boca y ella se super emocionó. Pasamos a visitarla al día siguiente, y dijo que había hablado con misioneros antes pero que decidió alejarse. Sin embargo, se dió cuenta que el evangelio la llena de una paz indescriptible y que necesita unirse a la iglesia. Pasamos, y desafiamos a ella y a sus dos hijos al bautismo, y todos aceptaron. El niño menor todavía necesita asistir la iglesia, pero ¡vamos a trabajar en eso! También, cuando estaba en intercambios con el poderoso AP Turley, contactamos una señora en la parada de las combis, y la desafiamos al bautismo dentro de cinco minutos de conocerla, y aceptó. Asistió este domingo y tiene fecha para el 30 de Marzo. Emocionados por todo este éxito, le dijimos al obispo de broma que vamos a tener 10 bautismos este mes, pero para él no fue broma, y este domingo que fue domingo de ayuno se paró a dar su testimonio y dijo que los misioneros de San José son los mejores y que tendrán 10 bautismos este mes. Ups. Ya nos comprometió el obispo asi que ya no hay de otra jaja. El obispo tiene una hija que regresó de la misión hace 6 días, y otra que regresó hace 2 años, y nos marcó ayer en la noche diciendo que están listos para hacer todo para que tengamos 10 bautismos. Ellos solos ya organizaron noches de hogar con nuestros amigos en enseñanza, están contactando a gente por nosotros y escribiéndoles a todos. Sus otros dos hijos están trayendo libros de mormón a la escuela para sus amigos. También tenemos ya noches de hogar con otros miembros cuyos amigos no son miembros, pero ya confirmaron que sí irán. Es loco ver como tenemos el 101% de apoyo de los miembros. Ya todos queremos una rama.
No sé qué va a pasar este mes, pero sí sé por lo menos una cosa. El mes de milagros ha comenzado.

👋. I really don’t have words to describe this week. My companion and I have been working like we’ve never done in our lives. We had 2 conferences in Puebla this week, so we missed a lot of work time, but the Lord still blessed us in so many ways. Both times we traveled to Puebla we could have gone a day earlier and stayed overnight there with everyone, but we decided to stay in our area to work, even if it was just 2 more hours, and wake up at 4:45 to get to Puebla on time. According to the rules, we have to be at the apartment by 9 pm, but sometimes we finish work at 8:45 or something like that. Instead of going back home right away, we contact every person on the street that we can until the clock says 9. I know they are small things, but as the scripture says, the Lord does great works through very small means. So, what have been the results? Well, at the beginning of the week my companion and I set our goals for the month of March, and we decided to set a goal of 4 baptisms. To give you an idea, our folder was literally empty. No more than 7 people in teaching, zero prospects, zero everything. There was no one that I thought could be baptized, however, we felt such a strong impression that we should put 4, so we trusted and did it. Today as I write this, 8 days later, we already have 3 baptisms scheduled for the end of the month with people who have already attended church, with many more people that we are going to challenge this week, or who just need to attend to schedule the baptism. When you give absolutely everything to the Lord, He does the same in return. This place has literally turned into the waters of Mormon.
My companion and I were contacting late one night, and out of nowhere a lady stopped us, and asked us if we remembered her. At that moment, God literally lit up my mind because I had no idea, but out of nowhere her name came out of my mouth and she got super excited. We stopped by to visit her the next day, and she said she had talked to missionaries before but decided to walk away. However, she realized that the gospel fills her with an indescribable peace and that she needs to join the church. We stopped by, and challenged her and her two kids to baptism, and they all accepted. The youngest child still needs to attend church, but we are going to work on that! Also, when I was on exchanges with the mighty AP Turley, we contacted a lady at the bus stop, and challenged her to baptism within five minutes of meeting her, and she accepted. She attended this Sunday and has a date for March 30th. Excited by all this success, we told the bishop as a joke that we were going to have 10 baptisms this month, but for him it was no joke, and this Sunday, which was fast Sunday, he stood up to give his testimony and said that the missionaries from San José are the best and that they will have 10 baptisms this month. Oops. The bishop has committed us so there is no other option now haha. The bishop has a daughter who returned from her mission 6 days ago, and another who returned 2 years ago, and he called us last night saying that they are ready to do everything so that we can have 10 baptisms. They have already organized family home evenings with our friends in teaching, they are contacting people for us and writing to everyone. Their other two children are bringing Mormon books to school for their friends. We also have family home evenings with other members whose friends are not members, but they have already confirmed that they will go. It is crazy to see how we have 101% support from the members. We all want a branch now.
I don't know what's going to happen this month, but I do know at least one thing. The month of miracles has begun.
