Week 5 First Miracles

     Qué pachuca por toluca

Esta semana definitivamente estuvo llena de momentos muy altos pero también momentos muy bajos. Por fín pudimos obtener acceso a Predicad mi Evangelio y a los registros con la información de los miembros. Desafortunadamente, 99.9% de la información está desactualizada, así que nos hemos pasado casi toda la semana buscando direcciones o llamando numeros que ya no existen. Es trabajo tedioso, pero necesario. En Zacatlán y sus alrededores, hay mas de 350 miembros, pero solo 20 son activos, así que hay bastante trabajo que hacer.

    Mi compi y yo tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar algunos pueblos más lejanos. En el pueblo de Ahuacatlán, vimos milagro tras milagro que nos ayudó a encontrar gente. En otro pueblo llamado Buenos Aires (no, no está en Argentina) pudimos conocer al miembro más fuerte que he visto en toda mi vida. Este es el Hermano que toma una combi de 4.5 horas para asistir la iglesia. Dedicó la mitad de su casa para que pueda ser una futura casa de oración, y salió con nosotros todo el día a proselitar. Tristemente, según en consejo de nuestro presidente, aunque mucha gente en los pueblos están listas, sin una rama fuerte en Zacatlán no tenemos cómo apoyarlos, así que debemos reenfocar nuestras energías en Zacatlán por el momento. Esto significa que no regresaremos indefinidamente. Fue una decisión bastante dura para mi y mi compañero, porque fue tan fácil sentir el amor de Cristo por estas personas. Sin embargo, sabemos que el tiempo del Señor es perfecto, y su hora llegará.

     El domingo fue un día muy especial. Todo empezó como un servicio normal durante el sacramental. Despues de tomar la santa cena, abrimos las puertas, y esperando afuera había un montónnn de miembros inactivos que hemos estado enseñando. En estilo típico Mexicano, llegaron tarde, pero llegaron! Llegó tanta gente que ya no cabían en el cuarto! En total fueron unas 60 personas, un récord de asistencia para la rama Esta semana ha sido difícil, pero no hay nada que valga la pena que no sea difícil. Si nosotros ponemos de nuestra parte, el Señor nos ayudará donde nosotros ya no podemos. Los amo a todos, ahí nos vidrios<3

Pensamiento Espiritual: 2 Nefi 26: 24

"Él no hace nada a menos que sea para el beneficio del mundo; porque él ama al mundo, al grado de dar su propia vida para traer a todos los hombres a él. Por tanto, a nadie manda él que no participe de su salvación." En muchas ocasiones durante la semana me he acachado reclamandole al Señor ¿Por qué?." "¿Por qué estoy sufriendo?, ¿Por qué me haces hacer esto?, etcetera." En vez, deberiamos preguntar "¿Para qué?" Todo ocurre por una razón, y es nuestra responsabilidad averiguar qué es lo que el Señor nos quiere enseñar.

     Wasupp everyone

This week was definitely full of highs but also lows. We were finally able to get access to Preach My Gospel and the records with the member information. Unfortunately, 99.9% of the information is outdated, so we have spent most of the week looking for addresses or calling numbers that no longer exist. It is tedious work, but necessary. In Zacatlán and its surroundings, there are more than 350 members, but only 20 are active, so there is quite a bit of work to do. 

     My companion and I had the opportunity to visit some more distant towns. In the town of Ahuacatlán, we saw miracle after miracle that helped us find people. In another town called Buenos Aires (no, it is not in Argentina) we were able to meet the strongest member I have ever seen in my entire life. This is the Brother who takes a 4.5 hour kombi to attend church. He dedicated half of his house to be a future house of prayer, and he went out with us all day to preach. Sadly, according to the counsel of our mission president although many people in the villages are ready, without a strong branch in Zacatlán we have no way to support these people, so we must refocus our energies in Zacatlán for the moment. This means we wont be returning indefinitely. It was a very hard decision for me and my companiom, because it was so easy to feel the love of Christ for these people. However, we know that the Lord's time is perfect, and their hour will come.                

      Sunday was a very special day. It all started as a normal sacrament meeting. After taking the sacramenents, we opened the doors, and waiting outside were a ton of inactive members that we have been teaching. In typical Mexican style, they were late, but they showed up! So many people came that they could no longer fit in the room! In total there were about 60 people, a record attendance for the branch. This week has been difficult, but there is nothing worthwhile that is not difficult. If we do our part, the Lord will help us where we can no longer. I love you all, until next week <3

Spiritual Thought: 2 Nephi 26: 24 "He does nothing except it be for the benefit of the world; for he loves the world, so that he gave his own life that he might bring all men unto him. Wherefore, he commandeth none that shall not partake of his salvation." On many occasions during the week I have found myself asking the Lord, "Why?" "Why am I suffering? Why are you making me do this? Etc." Instead, we should ask, "What for?" Everything happens for a reason, and it is our responsibility to find out what the Lord wants to teach us.
